Shocking Information

On the Proposed Property Tax Increase

SJR14 is a proposed Constitutional Amendment to change the way property taxes are assessed in Nevada. It passed the 2017 Legislature. It would need to pass the 2019 Legislature and then go on the ballot in 2020. State Senator Julia Ratti from Dist. 13 Reno-Sparks was the sponsor.

The information in quotes is from Michael E. Clark, Washoe County Assessor. Please support him for re-election. If you want to know more he is giving presentations on the subject.

“SJR 14 removes the property tax abatement and all depreciation for the first fiscal year after the sale of the property.”

"Examples of Potential Impact" Devastating!!!

“The property tax bill for a 1,200 square foot home built in 1964 in Old Northwest Reno would increase from $677 per year ($56 per month) to $2,264 the first year after the sale. This results in a $133 increase per month.”

“A 3,900 square foot home built in 1991 in Juniper Trails with a current tax bill of $8,344 per year would increase to $13,699 resulting in a $446 increases to the buyer’s monthly payments.”

Taxes with abatement were $7,706 (on a particular parcel in Washoe County) for 2017. Based on taxable value they would have been $17,766. With the implications of SJR14 the 2017 taxes on this parcel would be $21,165.” TRIPLE!!!!

As you can see, SJR14 requires that property taxes reset at a much higher rate, more than doubling or tripling, each time a home or business property is sold. If you plan to stay in your home until you die you might not care…except…

Your friends, neighbors, family, children and grandchildren will have much less to spend on food, clothing, health care, transportation, and housing, pushing more Nevadans into poverty. If you have a business your customers will have less to spend. If you work for a business its customers will have less to spend so you may not get a raise or keep your job. This will impoverish Nevadans!

It is critical that we make this a campaign issue in 2018 so we can defeat this at the 2019 Legislature. This property tax Constitutional change was supported by the Nevada Association of Counties, which lobbies and represents ALL Nevada Counties. Therefore, ASK everyone running for County office or County Commission where they stand on SJR14 the Constitutional Amendment to raise property taxes. Also, ask everyone running for any statewide office and especially ALL State Senate and Assembly Candidates as they will be voting on SJR14* in the 2019 Legislature.

Protect Nevada Taxpayers, businesses and families, from the tax-burden of illegal immigration. According to the Center for Immigration Studies 62% of households headed by illegal immigrants used one or more welfare programs. The Federation for Immigration Reform estimates that the annual fiscal burden on Nevada taxpayers associated with illegal immigration to be about $630 million equating to an average annual cost of about $763 per native-born headed household in the State.

Nevada is becoming a Sanctuary State like California. The 2017 Legislature extended “driver authorization cards” for illegal immigrants (drivers’ licenses) from an annual renewal to a four year renewal. There is no requirement to receive a driver authorization card in Nevada except to pass the test. Utah requires among other things that they have proof that they are here legally, that they sign for financial responsibility, and that they have a valid Tax ID number from the IRS. Why do we continue to burden taxpayers with the excessive costs of illegal immigration?

Facebook Keeps Track Of A Terrifying Number Of Details About You: Here’s How To See That Data
This article was written by Mac Slavo And originally published at March 21, 2018

Facebook is back in the hot seat, and it’s becoming ever apparent why so many seem to be abandoning the social media website. The number of details that Facebook is keeping track of is borderline terrifying, and here’s how to find out what it knows.

As if the censorship wasn’t bad enough on Facebook, they also use your own personal preferences against you. Recently, it became known that a company called Cambridge Analytica (CA) took data from a reported 50 million Facebook users and built personality profiles in order to serve people with political ads to “target their inner demons,” according Christopher Wylie, the former CA employee who blew the whistle on the situation, as reported by The Observer and The New York Times.

Facebook banned CA from its platform last week and announced it planned to audit the company to verify whether or not the Facebook data had truly been deleted, as CA had promised it had been years ago. And there’s now a slew of investigations being launched over the matter in the United States and the United Kingdom. But the real questions remain: How could Facebook know your “inner demons”? And what exactly does it know?

The truth is that Facebook knows a scary amount of stuff on you. Its whole business relies on watching what you do on Facebook, as well as tracking what you do on the internet via social media plug-ins (like the ability to “Like” a news post on a third-party website) and tracking the apps you install on your phone. –Business Insider

To find out exactly what the social media giant knows about you, log in to Facebook and head to a page called “Your ad preferences.” You can find the page through this URL, or by clicking on the small arrow on the top right of the blue bar and then clicking “settings” and then “ads.”

After scanning all this stuff you do online, Facebook builds a profile about you, which you can see by clicking on “your categories.” This is info Facebook shares with advertisers. Facebook uses this feature to determine things about your family life, where you live now and have lived in the past, and what kind of technology you use. There is a lot of information about everyone that Facebook keeps track of and then uses to allow advertisers to target ads to people who share similar interests

Facebook also tracks your location, meaning where you are and where you’ve been, using both Facebook and Instagram. You can tell Facebook not to share your information with some advertisers but the only way to have Facebook NOT track any of your activities is to stop using its services, including the other apps it owns like Instagram. It’s important to remember that Facebook is free because it makes its money by showing you ads.

The Real Agenda of COS: Completely Change the U.S. Constitution
By Janine Hansen, National Constitutional Issues Chairman Eagle Forum

The Convention of States Project exposed their limitless agenda for an Article V Constitutional Convention in their own booklet published in 2018 and available on their website, “Article V Convention of States Citizen’s Pocket Guide”. COS lists an eye-opening number of limitless possible Amendments to completely alter the U.S. Constitution through an Article V Constitutional Convention.

On pages 33 and 34, “Possible Amendments to Consider at a Convention of States” we read: “At an Article V Convention of States, delegates will have the opportunity to debate and pass amendments that could:

  • Require Members of Congress to live under the same laws they pass for us.
  • Impose term limits on Members of Congress.
  • Pass a federal balanced budget amendment.
  • Require a photo ID to vote.
  • Get the federal government out of our healthcare system.
  • Get the federal government out of our education system.
  • Stop unelected federal bureaucrats from imposing regulations.
  • Set term limits for Supreme Court Justices.
  • Set term limits for federal bureaucrats, ending the dominance of the “deep state.”
  • Remove the authority of the federal government over state energy policy.
  • Remove the authority of the federal government over land use issues within state borders.
  • Force the federal government to honor its commitment to return federal lands to the states.
  • At this convention, delegates from the states will gather for the sole purpose of limiting the power, size, and spending of the federal government, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.”

Notice the broad range of subjects…from election law to energy policy, from education to healthcare. Is there an issue you can think of that doesn’t fit under COS’s enormous umbrella resolution? Is there a pet amendment you would like to propose? Or perhaps, that the Delegates from large population Left- leaning states, who will have the majority of delegates, would like to propose?

In addition to these limitless possibilities and subjects, the COS booklet goes on to list proposals from their Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia simulated Convention held in September, 2016 on six IDEAS, more subjects (not amendments but ideas). “The devil is in the details,” which are never provided.

  1. Not increasing the public debt except upon a recorded vote of two-thirds of each House of Congress.
  2. Term limits on Members of Congress
  3. Limiting federal overreach by returning the Commerce Clause to its original meaning.
  4. Limiting the power of federal regulations by giving an easy congressional override.
  5. Requiring a supermajority for federal taxes and repeal of the 16th Amendment.
  6. Giving the states (by a 3/5ths vote) the power to abrogate any federal law, regulation or executive order.

The key that unlocks the limitless amendments at an Article V Constitutional Convention is the COS Resolution itself. The Convention of States Project recommends “limiting” a Constitutional Convention to three subjects, which open every Article in the U.S. Constitution to limitless amendments. The three subjects are 1) “to impose Fiscal Restraints on the Federal Government” (That could mean a Balanced Budget of some sort but it is undefined and could mean much more), 2) to limit “the Power and Jurisdiction of the Federal Government,” (This opens to amendments all Six of the Seven Articles of the Constitution in which our Founders limited the power and jurisdiction of the Federal Government. In other words, it opens the door to limitless amendments to the entire Constitution), and to 3) “limit the terms of office for its officers and members of Congress”.

The Convention of States Article V resolution proposes an application with Subjects, which are undefined and limitless. The Convention of States is leading America towards a wide-open and limitless Article V Constitutional Convention of the States opening the door to fundamental and limitless changes to the U.S. Constitution according to COS’s own publication.
