Super Powers in the West Provoking Russia into World War
by Egon von Greyerz, April 19, 2018
“The super powers in the West are doing what they can to provoke Russia and indirectly China and Iran into a world war. Most people alive today were not adults when WWII started and therefore did not follow the lead up to the war. But today the whole world can watch how the West has chosen to attack a country which has no major significance geopolitically and does not threaten any other country. Still the West clearly knows that bombing of Syria can start a global conflict with potentially horrendous consequences.
“There is no intelligent reporting of these events in the Western media. Whatever propaganda the media is fed, they just publish it without any analysis or investigation. And the US with its allies do not wait for any independent verification of alleged use of chemical weapons. That a world war could start on such fickle reasoning is absolutely frightening.
“Syria is of course only an excuse. As a country it would be of no consequence for the safety of the rest of the world if it was left alone. Most wars are started by nations which are under economic pressure domestically. The US and UK fit that picture perfectly.
“With debts growing exponentially and massive budget and trade deficits, both these countries are on the way to bankruptcy. Added to that, their leaders are under major pressure at home. Trump has “Deep State” and impeachment pressures and Theresa May suffers from weak leadership in a minority government with an unresolved Brexit. This is the perfect background for pretending that there is a major global conflict and diverting the attention to the international scene.
“It is only Russia’s restraint which has so far stopped this conflict from turning into something very serious for the world. We must remember that Russia only has two military bases outside of their country whilst the US has around 1,000. Also, according to independent experts, Russia’s military might is far superior to that of the US. But in the case of a nuclear war, both countries have more than enough power to destroy the world. So we must hope and pray that it won’t come to that.” https://goldswitzerland.com/gold-should-be-16450-silver-761/
Gas Prices are Going Uphttps://www.theorganicprepper.com/heres-why-gas-prices-are-skyrocketing/
“Who recalls the oil embargo of 1973? That was when the Arab-dominated Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) announced they were cutting oil exports to the United States and other countries that provided military aid to Israel during the Yom Kippur War of October 1973.
“In six months’ time, gas prices had quadrupled. Prices remained higher even after the embargo ended in March 1974.
(cont.) “The current members of OPEC are made up of twelve countries: Algeria, Angola, Ecuador, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.
“Let’s look at some of the OPEC members and their current interactions with their friends, frenemies, foes, other random players, and the resultant alliances.
“For weeks, tensions have been rising between Iran and Israel. It began in February when, according to Israel, an armed Iranian drone originating from Syria penetrated the Israeli airspace. Israel downed the drone, then attacked the caravan which launched the drone from the T-4 airbase deep in Syrian territory…Mutual threats of retaliation have since been issued by both Iran and Israel.
“Venezuela, which holds the world’s largest oil reserves, has seen a steady decline in production amid lack of money for maintenance and exploration. Venezuela imports about 2 million barrels of heavy naphtha per month, and all of it comes from U.S. Gulf refiners, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The U.S. is leaning toward imposing oil-sector sanctions on Venezuela before the country holds April 22 elections that opposition leaders have vowed to boycott, according to a senior State Department official. The official, who asked not to be identified discussing private talks, stressed that no decision has been made and the U.S. is still weighing the impact such sanctions would have on ordinary Venezuelans as well as on U.S. refiners that import heavy Venezuelan crude.”
“A fire on the Libyan oil pipeline has dramatically reduced their output. Libya suffered a major fire on its major export pipeline that was attributed to terrorist activities this past weekend reducing their oil production from 300,000 barrels per day by at least 80,000 barrels per day. It is unknown how long it will take to make the necessary repairs.
“Here’s the conclusion reached by OPEC. OPEC has been meeting this last week and Reuters reported that a Joint Technical Committee meeting held Thursday found that the glut of global oil supplies has been virtually eliminated, citing two sources familiar with the matter.
“The supply cut has helped boost oil prices this year to $73 a barrel, the highest since November 2014. Oil began a slide from above $100 – a price that Saudi Arabia endorsed in 2012 – in mid-2014 when growing supply from rival sources such as U.S. shale began to swamp the market. But the kingdom wants the rally to go further. Two industry sources said a desired crude price of $80 or even $100 was circulated by senior Saudi officials in closed-door briefings in recent weeks.”
“Are we just one more hurricane away from losing more of our domestic oil and gas production? Are global geopolitical tensions where they were in the 1970’s? No, not yet, but there isn’t a lot of margin for error as the world plays a risky game.”

Convention of States Article V Constitutional Convention
Loses in 13 States this Year!
By Janine Hansen, National Constitutional Issues Chairman Eagle Forum
The battle to save our Constitution rages across the country. Although “conservatives” control no City Councils, County Commissions, State Legislatures, and certainly not the U.S. Congress, ”Pie in Sky” Convention of States advocates dream that they can control an Article V Constitutional Convention. The delegates from EVERY state will most likely be proportional based on population and apportioned according to the Electoral College. This puts small states and especially “conservatives” at an incredible disadvantage.
We all recognize that our country is in trouble. The hypnotic response of the Convention of States followers is, “We must do something… and their something is an Article V Constitutional Convention, no matter the risks. This is like pouring gasoline on our smoldering Constitution.
Many have awakened to the incredible threat an Article V Constitutional Convention poses to our vulnerable Republic. Convention of States Project tells us we do not have to worry because any amendments coming out of an Article V Constitutional Convention will have to be approved by the States, either the State Legislatures or a Convention in that State.
History would tell us not to trust the judgment of the States. It was the States after all that gutted the balance of power, the checks and balances, placed in the Constitution by our founders when in 1913 they ratified the 17th Amendment. Originally U.S. Senators were elected by the State Legislatures. This assured that the power, jurisdiction and autonomy of States were protected. Our founders understood that all government is subject to corruption. They designed a Constitution that divided power and pitted one part of government against another in order that, as they jealously guarded their own power, it would by design, protect our liberties. The States gave away their power to the Federal Government essentially destroying the balance and checking of power, when they ratified the 17th Amendment which provided for the popular election of U.S. Senators.
The States’ ratification of the 17th Amendment is greatly responsible for the mess we find ourselves in right now…the Federal Government owns the states…because each receives between 19%-49% of their state general fund budget from the Federal Government, making them appendages of the Feds. They no longer have the interest in protecting us from the Federal Octopus because they are one of its many appendages.
Between 2014 and 2017, twelve states made application to the Congress to Call an Article V Constitutional “Convention of the States” including: Alaska, Arizona, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Missouri, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.
However, the “Convention of States Project” applications, including delegate bills which are the gateway to Article V Conventions, have failed this year to pass in a single state and have failed in thirteen states including: Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming.
There are continuing battles in Iowa and other states, but in this David and Goliath battle so far the moneyed Globalists from the Right and the Left have failed to overcome the dedicated army of volunteers fighting to save the U.S. Constitution from ruin.
In 2015, Former Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, called an Article V Constitutional Convention a “horrible idea” in the age of special interests. “Once you get those together, you never know what they’re going to do. You’ll get everything but the kitchen sink written into the Constitution.”
An unpublished Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) study confirms Florida State University criminologist Gary Kleck’s findings of more than two million defensive handgun uses (DGUs) per year.
Since the early 1990s, Kleck has maintained that there is a minimum of 760,000 DGUs annually. That is his low estimate; Kleck and research partner Marc Gertz have contended the actual number is closer to 2.5 million
Kleck summarized the CDC findings:
In 1996, 1997, and 1998, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) conducted large-scale national surveys asking about defensive gun use (DGU). They never released the findings, or even acknowledged they had studied the topic. I obtained the unpublished raw data and computed the prevalence of DGU. CDC’s findings indicated that an average of 2.46 million U.S. adults used a gun for self-defense in each of the years from 1996 through 1998 – almost exactly confirming the estimate for 1992 of Kleck and Gertz (1995). Possible reasons for CDC’s suppression of these findings are discussed.
On April 20, 2018, Reason magazine quoted Kleck’s reaction to the unpublished CDC findings; he explained that a figure of 2.46 million DGUs a year “[implies] that guns were used defensively by victims about 3.6 times as often as they were used offensively by criminals.”
